  • EMDR therapy, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, is a psychotherapy approach used to treat individuals who have experienced trauma. It involves the use of bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, to help the brain process traumatic memories and reduce their emotional impact. The therapist guides the client through a series of eye movements or other bilateral stimulation while they focus on the traumatic memory. This process helps the brain reprocess the memory, allowing the individual to gain new insights and perspectives, and ultimately reduce the distress associated with the trauma. EMDR therapy has been found to be effective in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related conditions.
